International cooperation

To ensure continuous development, we maintain ongoing collaboration with other European organisations in the fields of rehabilitation and vocational education. We explore best practices from other countries and share our own knowledge and experience. Learning from effective practices and solutions also inspires new ideas that we can adapt and implement in our own work.

We participate in various international projects aimed at developing and implementing new methodologies. Our recent collaborations include projects on digital learning and skills, work-related competences, and social-emotional development.

Our international cooperation also includes sending and hosting Erasmus+ mobilities for staff and students, participating in conferences and partnership meetings, and membership in professional networks within our field.

Project participation

Over the years, we have actively engaged in international collaboration through various funding programmes, including:

  • Leonardo da Vinci
  • Nordplus
  • European Social Fund
  • Baltic-American Partnership Programme
  • Various European Commission programmes
  • Erasmus+

Since 1997, we have participated in more than 70 international projects.

European Platform for Rehabilitation

Euroopa Rehabilitatsiooni Platvormi logo

For finding international partners and staying up to date with developments in the European rehabilitation landscape, the European Platform for Rehabilitation (EPR) has been an important point of reference for us over the years. We have been a member since 2001.

EPR is a network of organisations providing rehabilitation services, dedicated to innovation and achieving excellence in service quality through mutual learning. The network and its members contribute to creating a society where people with disabilities have access to high-quality services that provide equal opportunities for independent participation in society. The network brings together 30 rehabilitation organisations from across Europe.

Since June 2019, a representative from Astangu Centre has served on the EPR Board. The Board, composed of up to nine members, oversees all EPR activities and ensures the implementation of decisions made by the General Assembly.

Since 2024, Astangu Centre has been a member of the European Forum of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (EfVET), a network of schools and organisations providing technical and vocational education both within Europe and beyond.

EfVET supports the creation of connections to share innovative practices and develop the sector, and acts as an advocate for vocational education in policy discussions at both European and international levels. The network comprises over 350 member organisations, representing more than 1,500 vocational education providers worldwide.
